How to Play Survive a Million Monkeys

The step order below is taken from surviveamillionmonkeyswiki.com’s getting-started guide, which transcribes a recording. I did not play the tutorial myself on 8 October 2026. Join steps that I can tie to Roblox’s own pages are on the play page.

What that recording shows

• A tutorial counted as Survive Waves 0/5, with a character named Dimitri pointing at the next action.
• A free Pow Pow and a Survivor grenade upgrade handed over during that opening.
• Afterward, a lobby bar with Weapons, Classes, and Play.
• A results panel labeled Gems Earned, Squad Kills, Wave Reached, and Time Survived. One example they print is 1,835 gems, 367 kills, wave 5.

The order I would follow using only that account

I would clear the five tutorial waves before I touch a code, because the redeem guides say the Codes control appears after the tutorial. Next I would look for the lobby gift Pocket Tactics describes (group join, notifications, purple box) before I spend gems. Then I would paste MONKEYS, the one code in the official description, and only then try SURVIVE and 1MVISITS, which I still have not redeemed. The first paid shortcut that is actually written on a Roblox pass is the 49 Robux Starter Pack: Shorty, Medic, and 10,000 gems. I would not buy a later class until I had seen its buttons in the lobby.

Finish the tutorial and start a regular run

• The community walkthrough reports a five-wave tutorial. Follow Dimitri’s prompts, claim the offered starter gun and free upgrade, then complete the waves.
• At the end, the guide describes a helicopter extraction. Follow the current on-screen exit prompt; the sequence is reported, not independently recorded here.
• In the lobby, review Weapons and Classes, then open the Codes menu. The code list distinguishes official publication from media reports.
• The walkthrough describes four slots on the Play queue platform. Join an available slot or coordinate with friends, and follow the live queue prompt to begin the next run. That queue description is not the server capacity; the official API allows up to 25 players per server.
